Satyagraha—an opera by American composer Philip Glass first performed in 1980, which shows how Mahatma Gandhi developed his concept of non-violent protest in South Africa (satyagraha means “truth-force”). The opera opens with Arjuna and Krishna in conversation, and this part is sung in Sanskrit.
