[Teacher-TalkNovel] discussion list

I have been through the first two workshops so far. I like the variety of approaches being presented by the participants. In workshop two I especially liked the idea that novels can be interpreted on several levels, such as symbolically, allegorically, archetypically, thematically. What some various ways we can get our students to think beyond plot? Showing them Campbell's archetypical hero and looking for similarities was one good way presented in workshop 2.
