Hi Scott...I tried it in one of my classes. I picked few pages from a book the students were reading that had a lot of dialog between several characters. I appointed a student the director and the others helped the "actors" rehearse their lines. (It was a small reading class) Afterward, the students discussed the part of the story that they just acted out. It didn't take as long as I thought it would, only about 1/2 the class period. The kids had fun, but you really need to keep a thumb on things to keep them under control and on task.
