I have been stewing over this since we started this inquiry method,
wondering how to get my kindergartners past the initial launching activity,
how to get them into more of an inquiry. I tried several different prompts,
and even tried flat out telling them what we needed to talk about. Today in
the middle of one of my "severely guided" inquiry lessons, one of the
children posed a question and we just sort of took off. The kids are rather
excited about doing a survey of family and friends to see if we can answer
the question. Needless to say I am quite relieved at finally having made
some sort of progress with this!!
