I'm teaching honors chemistry (a first year course)for the
first time in several years, and I'm using Merrill
Chemistry for the first time. I'm just getting ready to
plan my unit on bonding, and this textbook goes into IR
spectroscopy and molecular identification. It doesn't go
into a lot of detail, but is this really necessary for high
school students, even advanced students? I certainly don't
have the equipment to do this! I would be very interested
in feedback regarding what other teachers include in this
unit for their honors students.
