Converting Metric Volume
Example #1: Converting 1700 liters to kiloliters.

STEP 1: Write out the measurement to be converted (1700 liters) and the conversion factor. The unit "liters" will be in the denominator, and the unit that you are converting to, "kiloliters," will be in the numerator.

| STEP 2: Cancel out identical units (Hint: Cross out "liters"). |

STEP 3: Now multiply, and divide:
