[Channel-talklit3to5] Engaging Students -Workshop #1

I first viewed this segment of the workshop last summer. Although, I have taken a variety of classes through alternative delivery methods, the content and manner in which this workshop is given makes me feel totally connected to the situation. I look upon this not as a critic but as an active participant. Where previously I accessed the information and used it mainly for the purpose of completing a course, I feel this workshop will provide useful information that will help me become a better teacher. My interest was piqued last summer when I started this video series. Consequently, I set in motion plans to acquire multiple copies of books to use with my bilingual class this year. I am proud to say, that they will remember fourth grade as the first year they read chapter books in the company of friends.
