Welcome
to the Annenberg Channel. We distribute programming
all day, every day, on SES Americom's
AMC-3 (GE-3)- K 23 (H) located @ 87 degrees WL. The feed
is Digicipher II using "Virtual Channel Map" #15 and channel
514.
Note that the serial number and unit
address number of the DSR must be in the uplink computer
prior to tuning in the Channel. This is a one-time step.
If this has not been done, call 1-800-228-8030, extension
2.
Tuning Procedure:

Note that the Channel utilizes a "horizontal" downlink
signal. Connect antenna Low Noise Block downconverter
(LNB) to the "H" input on the back panel.

Using the Chaparral receiver or other
antenna controller, move to satellite GE3 and optimize
reception. Ensure antenna feed "Polarity" is a "horizontal" downlink.
Note: In the menus, the arrow or number keys can be used
to select choices. The remote control "Select" button is used
to make changes for all selections except as noted.

It is necessary to perform an IRD "Factory
Defaults Reset" first. Using the remote:
- Press "Options". This will display the Options menu.
- Press "3" (Customize Program Viewing)
- Press "4" (Change Password)
- Enter "Password" (996, unless it has been changed
locally) and press the "Time" button on the remote. The "Installation" menu
will be displayed.
- Arrow down to "Factory Defaults Reset" and highlight.
- Press the "Time" button on the remote. Note: Do
not press "Select" for this function. The IRD will
go dark, reset and is operational when channel 100
is displayed.

Press "Options", "3" and "4" on the
remote; "Password" (996). The Installation Menu will
be displayed again.
- Press "2" for Setup. This will display the choices.
- Verify the following (or select if not set):
- "Lost Signal Search" = Frequency
- "Video Format" = NTSC
- "LNB Selection" = DPLNB
- "Polarity" = Horizontal/ LHC5.
- Press "Go Back" to return to "Installation" menu.
- Press "3" for Manual Tune. This will display the choices.
Set the following values using the remote keypad to "navigate" and
enter numeric values:
- "Frequency Specification": Enter 1400.750
- "Transport Stream ID": Verify 0-0 and "Disable" is
selected (has a "dot").
- "Symbol Rate": Change "Auto" to 3.25.
- "Code Mode": Change "Auto" to 3/4
- Arrow down, highlight "Tune" and press "Select".
Note: Signal strength should be observed on the "bar" graph.
Signal strength of at least 6 may be required to acquire
and maintain a signal lock.
An IRD "signal" light should display after a moment.
Allow 90 seconds after "signal" acquisition for the
channel map to load.

Press "View" to clear the On Screen
Display (OSD).

Enter 514 on the remote. After a moment
the IRD will acquire and output audio/ video.
- Press "Options", "3" and "1". Select "Banner" Off.
Select "Choose Audio and TV Options" and make site choices. It is recommended
that "Audio Connections" be set to "TV" for all cases.
Press "View" to clear the On Screen Display.
